Men’s Retreat

Calling men of all ages to join the fight! The theme of this year’s Men’s Retreat is “The Ultimate Fight.”  It will once again be at Alpine Christian Camp in Blue Jay and run from Friday evening, Oct. 15th through Sunday noon on Oct. 17th.  Cost will be $135 with scholarships available upon request.  Brochures will be available shortly.

 Life Groups

We have two Life Groups meeting on Friday nights.  The Smee Life Group meets here at the church at 7:00 PM.  The Morris Life Group meets in Mira Loma at 7:30 PM.  Life Groups are a great way to get connected.

 Intern Needs

Carl Amouzou is coming from Honolulu to attend Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena in September and will need a room and transportation.  If you have either one, please talk to Mark.

 Weekly Devotional

Where do you go to meet with God?  It can be very helpful to develop a “prayer closet;” a quiet and safe place where you go to meet with God on a regular basis.  But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” (Matt 6: 6).  Think of arranging the seating and environment in a way that invites you to be comfortable in expressing yourself.  Part of creating your prayer closet is finding a special time to be there.  Often, the early morning can make a normally noisy spot into a place for quiet reflection.  Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed” (Mark 1: 35).
