Special Benevolence Offering

Next Sunday, November 14th, we will be taking a special offering in order to buy food to be packed after the Sunday service on November 21st.  We will be delivering the approximately 200 bags of groceries to La Viña en Los Angeles for their Thanksgiving Day outreach. “Give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven” (Matt. 19: 21).

Women’s Craft Day

Pick up a flyer for the Women’s Craft Day which is coming up on Saturday, November 20th from 9 AM to Noon. Women of all ages are welcome.  Children will need to be accompanied by an adult. There is a $15 suggested donation for materials.  This is a great opportunity to invite family and friends.

 Valentine’s Day

We’re beginning our planning for this year’s Valentine’s Day dinner.  If you want to help, talk to Rick or Victoria Hawrylew.

That’s the traditional Swahili greeting. Pastor and overseer of 67 Vineyards in Kenya, Noah Gitau, will be sharing about church-planting in Kenya and Uganda at The Hub Vineyard, 1032 Oro Vista, Sunland, on Saturday, Nov. 13th from 6:30-9 pm.  Worship will be led by David Ruis. If you are interested in being inspired by what God is doing through the Vineyard in eastern Africa, join us.

 Weekly Devotional

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus says that, if your brother has something against you, you should first go and be reconciled to your brother—then offer your gift.  It is much easier to go through religious activities and put off the harder job of working out conflicts with our brothers and sisters.  Spend time praying about your relationships with others.  Is God calling you to reach outside of your comfort zone so that you can be reconciled?  Ask God for the wisdom and strength to become a peacemaker.  Write about what you are thinking and feeling.  Go to the other person when you have gained insights that will empower you to be reconciled.
