Weekly Devotional

Peter tells us in his first epistle that, having been saved into a state where we have a natural love for our brothers and sisters (philadelphia), now we are to “love (agape) one another deeply, from the heart” (1 Pet. 1: 22). One way we can begin to love with an unconditional love, deeply and from the heart is to begin to pray for one another. This is especially true for those whom we may have a difficult time loving. Make a list of three people for whom you may have a difficult time feeling affection. Pray for them at least 5 minutes every day this week. You may also ask them what you can pray for. Does praying for them begin to change your attitude towards them? Write about it.
